Cost doesn’t have to be an obstacle – IREM has a wide array of scholarships available to help alleviate the financial burdens associated with higher education.
 
IREM CT CHAPTER
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA & PROCEDURES

 

Purpose

 

The purpose of the Connecticut Chapter #51 Scholarship program is to provide worthy individuals who are financially incapable the opportunity to attend IREM’s courses either through classroom offerings or through the home study program and to enable current or future Chapter Leaders the financial ability to attend Leadership, Educational and Regional Summits.

 

Administration and Authority to Confer

 

The administration of this program is conducted by the Executive Counsel of Connecticut Chapter #51, which has complete and final authority to confer or revoke scholarships, make other decisions pertaining to the use of funds in the scholarship program, and determine the specific courses recipients shall attend under this program. 

 

Eligibility

 

To be eligible for an Educational Scholarship, an applicant must:

·        Be a member of Chapter #51 and be in good standing.

·        Be currently employed in some aspect of the real estate field.

·        Complete the application form and submit the following:

1.      An affidavit from the applicant’s employer verifying that the applicant receives no financial aid from the employer. 

 

To be eligible for the Leadership, Educational and Regional Summits, an applicant must:

·        Be a CPM, CPMC and/or ARM. 

·        Be an active member of Chapter #51 either as a Chapter Officer, Committee Chair Person or member of a committee.

·        Provide an affidavit from their employer verifying that they do not receive any financial reimbursement for the summits attending.

 

Selection Criteria

 

Applicants will be reviewed according to the following criteria:

1.      Commitment to real estate management as a career; objective and probability of success in this career.

2.      Commitment to Chapter #51 as an active member, participation on the Executive Counsel either as an officer, committee chair or committee member.

3.      Financial need.  The applicant must not receive any educational reimbursement from his or her employer or other sources. 
 
Stipulations

 

The intent of the scholarship is to cover educational expenses associated with earning a CPM designation or to cover 50% of the expenses of future Chapter Leaders to attend the Leadership, Educational and Regional Summits. 

 

Application Deadline

 

Applications must be received 90 days prior to the requested event date.  Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the sponsoring entity.   Please click here for the Scholarship Application 
 
Additionally, IREM offers scholarship programs at the national level through the IREM Foundation. The IREM Foundation awards scholarships to qualified students at all career stages, from those currently enrolled in college to those working towards an IREM credential.
