Ms. McKiernan has been with HallKeen Management for ten years and a member of IREM throughout her management career. She oversees a portfolio of nine market and affordable housing properties in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut comprising 1057 units and approximately 10,000 square feet of office space. Affordable housing programs include Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Section 8, Rent Supplement, 13A, Section 236, and 80/20. Ms. McKiernan has over 20 years in the property management field as a residential manager, senior manager and as a regional manager for the past ten years. She has supervised both family and elderly sites
.Ms. McKiernan is a graduate of Bentley College and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM), Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) through IREM, has a LIHTC C10P designation from Spectrum Enterprises, and is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) through the National Center for Housing Management.

Heather has been working for HallKeen Management for 5 years and currently maintains 170 units at 2 subsidized properties in Danbury and Norwalk. She has over 15 years experience in property management with a specialty in Section 8 and Low Income Housing Tax Credits. Prior to HallKeen, she worked for Elderly Housing Management; a non-profit organization based out of North Haven. With EHM, she managed Congregate Housing with an Assisted Living component in Hartford and she has expertise in elderly and senior services.
Heather is a graduate of Central CT State University and is fluent in Spanish. She received her Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation in June 2007. She also holds the following certifications through National Center of Housing Management; Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) and Management Occupancy Review Specialist (MORS).
Throughout her career she has developed lasting relationships with many HUD monitoring agencies including, Imagineers LLC, the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and the CT Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA). Heather is experienced in all Federal and State housing regulations, including Fair Housing and ADA rules and polices.
She is also a founding member of Aim for a Cure, a non profit organization that supports and conducts research in finding a cure for Huntington’s disease.
In addition to serving as the 2010 Chapter Secretary, Heather Chairs the IREM Young Professional (IYP) Committee and Co-Chairs the Web Site Committee as well as having received the 2009 ARM of the Year Award for the CT Chapter.
