Institute of Real Estate Management
Connecticut Chapter # 51
Guidelines for "Friends of IREM" program
The following guidelines have been established to assist the leaders of the Connecticut Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management in implementing an effective "Friends of IREM" program.
Eligibility: Any vendor or professional individual may become a friend of the chapter, provided that the service performed by the vendor/individual is related to the property management field. Categories include but are not limited to Building Operations Services (e.g., elevator service, janitorial, plumbing, electric, HVAC, etc.), Construction Companies (e.g., tenant improvements, capital improvements, etc.), Attorneys, Architects, Accountants, Appraisers, Lending Institutions, etc. The Executive Council of the Chapter shall have final approval on whether a vendor is eligible for "friend" status.
Limitations: It will not be the policy of the Connecticut Chapter to limit the number of vendors within specific categories of services (i.e., those providing similar products or services). We reserve the right to do so in the future, however, there will be no limitation on the total number of vendors who may become friends of the chapter and there will be no limitation on the number of meetings that friends may attend each year.
Application Process: All vendors wishing to become a Friend of IREM shall complete an application form. The Executive Council shall review all applications and approve or reject each vendor as necessary and advise each applicant of its decision in writing.
Miscellaneous:The Connecticut Chapter will operate its "Friends of IREM" program in accordance with IREM National's Rules and Regulations, Article VIII, Section 8 (see bylaws on Home Page under Membership). The application form must include the appropriate disclaimer to protect the chapter with regard to this provision.
